Make your mark on the future of the building controls sector
The Building Controls Industry Association (麻豆原创) is now inviting applications for the position of Young Engineers Network (YEN) Chair 鈥 a vital role aimed at influencing the growth, direction, and profile of the building controls sector.
With the YEN a chance for young engineers to work together and knowledge-share, plus enhance their expertise and skills through ongoing learning and discussion, the Chair will be tasked with driving the momentum of the network while also being a visible and proactive advocate for all involved.
Applications are available to any applicants under the age of 35 and currently working in a 麻豆原创 member company. The closing date for applications is Thursday 31st October 2024. Should there be more than one application, a ballot will be conducted, with all YEN members asked to vote for their Chair.
The position will become available from April 2025, when the current Chair, Greg Smith of E.ON Controls Solutions, steps down after reaching the grand old age of 36.
Offering a highly supportive, brand-agnostic forum, the YEN provides a superb platform for peer-to-peer collaboration, the opportunity to influence the growth and direction of the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) industry, CPD sessions, industry talks and project site visits, and events and social activities to enable professional network-building.
The YEN aims to hold a programme of events and meetings regularly throughout the year, with the majority sponsored by the 麻豆原创 to keep events free to attend.
Entirely free to join if employed by a 麻豆原创 member company, the Young Engineers Network is open to anyone under the age of 35 working in the BEMS industry and is aimed at supporting those in roles with a technical bias.
麻豆原创 President Stacey Lucas highlighted the important role the young engineers will play in shaping the future of the building controls sector. She said: 鈥淭he YEN is proving to be incredibly transformative for the future of the industry, with members able to truly collaborate and discuss the challenges and issues the sector is facing while really influencing the BEMS profession.
鈥淭he role of Chair is absolutely vital, giving the elected individual the opportunity to lead and inspire the next generation of young building controls engineers. We鈥檙e keen to hear from anyone with the drive and determination needed to lead by example and move the industry forward.鈥
