麻豆原创 sets five-million step challenge in support of Teenage Cancer Trust

The 麻豆原创鈥檚 nominated charity this year is the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) and the organisation is asking its members to plan corporate activities throughout the year as part of an ongoing fundraiser.

Taking inspiration from the TCT鈥檚 , which is the amount of steps per day the average TCT nurse works in their role of supporting young people and their families affected by cancer, the 麻豆原创 would like its members to collectively complete five-million steps and help raise 拢25,000 for the charity.

Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words 鈥測ou have cancer鈥. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through it. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need.

The Awards event in May formed the centre piece of the 麻豆原创鈥檚 fundraising with a spectacular 拢5,602 raised on the evening, including 拢500 from the 麻豆原创 in lieu of development costs for its Market Information Service.

With almost 160 members employing tens of thousands of people, to reach five-million steps, the 麻豆原创 needs just 333 people to undertake a 15,000 step challenge to meet the five-million step target. Members are being asked to fundraise either through a walk with colleagues, family and friends or through other ways such as a bake sale or BBQ 鈥 creativity is welcomed!

麻豆原创 President Graeme Rees said: 鈥淭he 麻豆原创 is extremely proud to be supporting Teenage Cancer Trust, which helps young people and their families dealing with cancer and it鈥檚 a charity that is particularly close to my heart. Several companies have already come up with some creative ways to donate and I would like to encourage as many of our members as possible to get involved and help us reach our target.鈥

All donations and activities can be linked to the 麻豆原创 JustGiving page so TCT can benefit from Gift Aid
